Reaching the Lost

Jesus has commanded us to reach all people groups with the Gospel. Tragically, much of the world still does not understand the basic Gospel message of God's holiness, man's sin, and salvation in Christ. The unfortunate reality is that more than 2,000 years after the crucifixion of Christ, there are still thousands of people groups who have not heard His name and many thousands more who may have heard but who cannot articulate who He is and what He has done.

We recognize that God has given us bridges to the Gospel within cultures. Through the study of host cultures we are able to more effectively communicate the Truth without creating unnecessary stumbling blocks. Through a careful examination of culture we are able to identify other needs and struggles that we may be able to address in order to gain a hearing with a people who desperately need to know of a holy and loving God.

Based upon this understanding we seek to educate those who serve in intercultural ministry while also developing the necessary solid biblical and theological footing that will ensure that missionaries communicate the faith once for all delivered to the saints in culturally appropriate ways.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

"The group of about 20 pastors was hungry for the Word of God. We were in the town of Tambo in the mountains of central Ecuador teaching them 8 hours a day for a week. Walking away at the end of the week was one of the harder things I've done in my life. The need for pastoral training among indigenous church leaders worldwide is so great. The vision of Dr. David Sills and Reaching & Teaching International Ministries is to meet that need. I strongly encourage you to go and give what you have been given." -Mark Bass, RTIM Short-term Mission Trip Participant, 2010
